2012 Great Sierra River Cleanup Results

September 15, 2012 – Fourth Annual Great Sierra River Cleanup a Success, as Thousands of Volunteers Pitch In

 On September 15, 2012 more than 3,400 volunteers joined together to remove over 63,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from rivers throughout the Sierra Nevada as part of the Fourth Annual Great Sierra River Cleanup. The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would like to thank all of the volunteers and partners that made this year’s Great Sierra River Cleanup such a huge success! Here are the final results:

 

3,491 volunteers
60,278 pounds of trash removed
3,185 pounds of recyclables removed
228 River miles cleaned
