Grants and Other Assistance
SNC Grants
The Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coast Protection Bond Act, was approved by voters in 2006. The SNC was allocated a total of $54 million of Proposition 84 funds for grant distribution and necessary administration of the grants. The SNC has distributed approximately $52 million dollars to 296 projects throughout the Sierra Nevada.
The focus of the FY 2012-13 Proposition 84 grant program was the “Preservation of Ranches and Agricultural Lands” in the Sierra Nevada. The SNC Board awarded $5.2 million towards these projects at its regular meeting on March 7, 2013.
