Applying For a Grant
This section of the SNC website is intended to guide interested applicants through the SNC grant application process. Here you will find the SNC Grant Guidelines and Grants Application Packets for each of the grant types the SNC offers. The Guidelines describe in detail the deadlines and process by which the SNC solicits grant applications, evaluates grant proposals and awards grants under our Proposition 84 Grants Program. The Guidelines will help you determine which grant type to apply for and will direct you to the correct application packet.

Getting Started
The SNC encourages potential applicants to submit one-page descriptions of application ideas so that we may work with you to refine the idea and submit the best grant application possible. If you have an idea for a grant, please complete and submit a Pre-Application form to the appropriate SNC area manager: Bob Kingman for Region-wide or Mt. Lassen area application ideas or Kim Carr for Mt. Whitney area ideas. Contact information for Bob and Kim can be found on the right hand side of this page. Please use the form below to submit your idea.
To get started with an SNC grant application, please review the SNC Grants Guidelines for Fiscal Year 08-09. These guidelines will assist you in determining whether or not you are an eligible applicant and which type of grant to apply for.

Performance Measures
As you review our Grants Guidelines and choose the appropriate GAP for the type of project you wish to submit for possible grant funding, please note that to be considered complete and eligible, every grant application must include project-specific performance measures. Performance Measures are used to track progress toward project goals and desired outcomes. They provide a means of reliably measuring and reporting the outcomes and effectiveness of a project and how the project outcomes contribute to the SNC’s achieving its larger programmatic goals.
